Alina and her mother are confined in their apartment during the pandemic. Tatiana gives piano lessons on her cellphone. Alina works as a painter in another part of the house. They learn the tragic news that the daughter of Alina’s friend has died. In quarantine, Alina feels powerless, only able to comfort her friend on the phone. The mother overhears them and the emotions triggered within her bring mother and daughter closer together. This portrait behind closed doors is remarkable for its striking images, crafted with great sensitivity. Although it focuses on different kinds of loss, death and childhood innocence, the film is filled with hope and renewal.
