In terms of cultural mediation, the RIDM are proud of their several initiatives that take place throughout the year :

• Screenings for the whole family (7 y/o and over) and youth workshops for initiation to documentary filmmaking.

• Screenings with school groups from high school to university level that take place before, during and after the festival.

• Documentary screenings and writing workshops in the carceral system.

• Extracurricular creative workshop programs with the collaboration of numerous artists and professionals.

• The Student Jury Award

• The Women Inmate Jury Award

These various projects maintain valuable links betweens professionals from different backgrounds who all care about the vitality of Quebec’s cultural ecosystem and its longevity for future generations.
