Canadian-Ukrainian mountaineer Boris Kaschenko died in 2018. He passed on to his family, and many others, his unwavering love of the mountains, which he always approached with a certain spirituality, reflected in his lifestyle and poetry. For the first time, his family goes on an expedition without him. The destination? Boris’ beloved Patagonia, where they scatter his ashes and pay their final respects. Far from a typical wake, Boris’ presence is keenly felt as much in the words of his family as in the tributes by his friends and, especially, in the joy and sadness of their mingled laughter and tears. This is a celebration of life.
