Anyadin...
Day After... takes us on a century-old boat carrying people from the capital Dhaka to other destinations in Bangladesh. Over the journey—scheduled to take two days but possibly delayed by several problems along the way—the boat’s different spaces become a rich setting for this kaleidoscopic work. With subtle humour, the film bears witness to human interactions within this microcosm, with all its social contrasts, class segregation, and political unrest simmering. Filmmaker Kamar Ahmad Simon, a rising star from Bangladesh, sets his own course in this genre-blurring film and ties in fictional elements to better present the passengers as a sample of Bangladeshi society.
