Nos hicieron noche
When tropical storm Dolores hit Mexico in 1974, the community of Charco Redondo was flooded beyond repair. Forced to evacuate, residents established a makeshift village nearby, San Marquitos, which is still missing from most regional maps. Those who brought their myths and folklore are now raising new generations, heirs of an unplanned relocation they didn’t experience first-hand. The film follows the Tello family members, each with different challenges, ideals, and goals. Among the everyday moments caught on film, a certain mystique permeates the work through the matriarch’s fervent desire to maintain her people’s spirituality.
