Bloom, Fanie Pelletier’s first feature film (Faded Photograph, Special Jury Award, the Soirée de la relève Radio-Canada – RIDM 2016), is an intimate look into the online lives of three groups of teenagers in Quebec. Featuring video content from online social networks around the world, this skillfully arranged mosaic wonderfully captures the spirit of a hyperconnected generation. With sensitivity and poetry, and without judgment, the film offers a rare opportunity to shed light on these young people’s anxieties, mixed emotions about self-image, ideas around friendship and love, and more broadly, the future.
