Faire-part by Rob Jacobs, Anne Reijniers, Nizar Saleh and Paul Shemisi is available on Tënk until July 11, 2023. As part of the 2019 RIDM, the film won the Best International Short or Medium-Length Film award.



This collaborative work deftly exposes the process of four filmmakers (two Belgian and two Congolese) questioning the way they film Kinshasa as well as the colonial forces that continue to operate there. By capturing performances in the streets of the city and expressing the artistic and political intentions of the artists, Faire-part expresses the power of art. It also underlines the importance of narrative sovereignty: to express one's culture, one's stories, and one's visions of the world. This is a film that unfolds and embodies a complex collective reflection of the highest relevance.
