Accreditations now on sale for One-on-One Pitches and calls for projects launched for Rough Cut Lab and franC doc grant
Montreal, Thursday, September 16, 2021 - This week, Forum RIDM launches the online sale of accreditations for the One-on-One Pitches, presented in collaboration with Alliance des producteurs francophones du Canada as well as announcing the participation of influential industry representatives. Forum RIDM also opens two calls for projects for the 2021 edition: the Rough Cut Lab and the franC doc grant.
ACCREDITATIONS ON SALE FOR THE 2021 ONE-ON-ONE PITCHES
Following the major success of the 2020 edition, the 2021 One-on-One meetings will take place virtually on November 16 and 17 as part of the 17th edition of the RIDM professional market. The event comprises 15-minute one-on-one meetings between producers, directors, and industry representatives (public and private broadcasters, sales agents, festival representatives, fund and institute representatives, and other consultants). It is a unique occasion to form partnerships and spark ideas for new projects. In 2021, around 60 local and international decision-makers and experts will take part in the virtual edition.

LAUNCH OF TWO CALLS FOR PROJECTS:
ROUGH CUT LAB: September 16 to October 8, 2021
The Rough Cut Lab is back this year as a central part of Forum RIDM. All filmmakers with a project at an advanced stage of editing (65 edited minutes minimum) can apply to present their film to a panel of internationally renowned experts. The selected project will be viewed in full by the team, the panelists, and a limited audience holding Forum RIDM accreditations. The screening will be followed by a discussion around issues in the editing process, “festival strategy,” and marketing at this crucial stage of the project’s development.
FRANC DOC GRANT: September 16 to November 5, 2021
Partnering with franC doc for the second time, Forum RIDM is proud to offer a grant of $2,000 to support documentaries made in the Quebec region. This grant, which supports writing and development, will be awarded to an emerging filmmaker based in Quebec, outside the region of Montreal. It will support the filmmaker in building a portfolio that may be presented to sponsors in order to receive funding for the project’s development.
